Apreciadas familias,

We LOVE New York

Second day in NYC and today was a full day!!!! We woke up and had breakfast in the hotel (by the pool, with cool music and delicious food) and at 10am we went to Times Square tot take our van that would take us to all the places we planned to go.

First thing we did was a tour around some interesting and famous streets and places in the city, like Lincoln Center, Central Park, the Museum Mile and others. Then we went to Wall Street and we took the ferry to Staten Island and back and we could see the Liberty Statue and a very awesome skyline of New York.

Time to have dinner around Wall Street and right after we visited the Ground Zero, the place where the World Trade Center was located before it crashed in the 9/11. We really liked the memorial but it was very sad at the same time to read all the names of the victims.

Then we took the coach again and it took us to the Brooklyn Bridge where we took some cool pictures and then we drove around Williamsburg, where a big jewish community live.

And to finish our day, one of the best things of this trip: going up the Empire State Building!!!! 86 levels and we got an amazing view of the whole Manhattan, New Jersey, Brooklyn and Queens. It was very beautiful and we had so much fun!!!

So sad to think that tomorrow is our last day in NYC (and in the USA as well), but we're happy to go home because we have too much to explain!!!

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Today we woke up VERY early, but for a VERY GOOD reason: our trip to NYC!! We took our flight at Orlando International Airport at 7am and arrived at NY's JFK around 9:30. First thing we did was took our transfer from there to our hotel (Room Mate Grace, very, very close to Times Square) and once we got there they told us we had to wait a little bit because our rooms weren't ready yet, so we decided to go to have lunch somewhere and, then, our first walk around the amazing TIMES SQUARE!!!!

For those who had been here before it was great to be in the "heart" of the world, but for the ones whose this was their first time, it was like a dream. We felt overwhelmed and excited at the same time to see all the ads and the flat screens shining bright and advertising musicals, shop stores, movies, concerts, telling the news, etc... We even went to the red stairs that are in the middle of TS to get a general view and, WOW! It was truly amazing!!!

Then we headed to the M&M's store and we spend half an hour taking pictures of everything and buying big bags full of delicious M&M's!! Right after we stopped by a souvenir shop and some of us tried to find something for their families or friends like if there wasn't tomorrow.

Now we're back to our nice hotel to get some rest and to get ready to walk a little bit more in the evening... We're really excited to discover more secrets of the city that never sleeps!!!

Legoland + Family Party

Yesterday  was a very cool and interesting day. In the morning we went to the college as usual to attend our English lessons. After them we had lunch at a very typical restaurant in the USA, Chick-fil-A, where you can eat all kind of crispy and fried chicken sandwiches. They even claim to be the first to invent the chicken sandwich!!!! Everything was delicious and we got the energy we needed.

Then we went to LEGOLAND!!!!! It's a very interesting theme park, thought for the children more than the adults, but there are a lot of awesome figures and statues made entirely of Lego pieces and bricks. And some of us found the Building Center, where you could design and build your own Lego car and even build some cool buildings and make the earthquake proof. We had an AWESOME time!!!

And to finish the day, and our time here in Florida as well, we went to Juan's family house to have a little party with all our host families. We took a dip in their pool, we ate pizza, we took some pictures and, definitely, we had a great time.

And now it's time to start closing our suitcases and start thinking of NEW YORK!!!!! We're all very, very, very excited to visit the "city that never sleeps" and to experience more of the American Life!!!

Next time we write, will be near Times Square!!!
